My Approach

In order for therapy to be transformative and healing, a good therapeutic relationship must be built. Which is why I like to use the first sessions to create a safe space for you to offload and release what you’ve been carrying versus just jump straight into doing the work. As sessions go by and you start to feel more comfortable in the therapeutic space we can start to focus on processing and exploring the impact the issues bringing you in are having on your mental health.

I work from a holistic approach that focuses on the mind, body and soul. I draw from an extensive array of theories including but not limited to the following:

  • Psychodynamic - Takes into account the influence of childhood relationships and experiences on later development. We look at understanding these experiences within a broader context of your values, culture, and beliefs.

  • Attachment theory -  Explores thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviors, and interpersonal exchanges that you have learned either to suppress and avoid or to amplify and overemphasize because of early attachment experiences.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy - Looks at how your thoughts are impacting the way you feel and behave. Helps you identify negative beliefs and stories you tell yourself that are preventing you from moving forward.

  • Emotion-Focused therapy - Promotes the awareness, acceptance, expression, utilization, regulation, and transformation of emotion as well as corrective emotional experience.

  • Mindfulness - Allows you to practice tuning into your body and noticing how your nervous system operates in the service of rebalancing the body and nervous system.

We’d Be A Good Fit If You’d Like To:

  • Address areas of concern related to anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships.

  • Explore and identify conditioned patterns learned in early childhood that are causing emotional and physical deregulation.

  • Change your relationship to your thoughts and past experiences.

  • Learn to identify and set boundaries with yourself and in your relationships.

  • Attune to the best version of yourself.

  • Access more awareness and compassion.
